Plum Dumplings, a popular autumn dessert often made in my country (Croatia). I learned to make it from my grandmother who had yummy fresh plums from her garden tree. It’s one of my most favorite dessert not so easy to make but so fulfilling when done.
Ingredients:
1kg of potatoes
400g of flour
150g of semolina flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
3 eggs
25 plums
100g butter
crumbs
1. Cook potatoes in salted water. Separate plum kernels. Mash the potatoes with the potato masher until smooth. Place them in a bowl.
2. Add flour, semolina, eggs, salt, sugar and oil inside and stir well. Start kneading with hands. With wet hands form dough into balls and place them on floured surface.
3. Cook dumplings in a boiling water until they come to the surface. Fry breadcrumbs on melted butter and roll dumplings inside.
