Meringue Cookies | Christmas Meringues

These little cookies are easy to make using only 5 ingredients. Try to make meringues at winter as a Christmas edible decoration. Flattened meringue cookies are typically the result of too much air collapsing out of your meringues. To prevent that, make sure that you have your egg whites at room temperature before you begin. They are light, and sweet, and crispy and everything you’d want a meringue cookie to be.

Ingredients:

2 egg whites
pinch of salt
100 g sugar
food color
cake sprinkles

1. Separate egg whites in a large bowl. Add pinch of salt. Using an electric mixer or a stand mixer stir on low speed until mixture becomes foamy.

2. Increase speed to high. Gradually add sugar while mixing. About 1 Tablespoon at a time, until sugar is dissolved. Add food color and beat until mixture is thick and shiny.

3. Fit a large disposable piping bag with a large tip and pipe the mixture onto prepared cookie sheet. Sprinkle with holiday sprinkles.

4. Bake on 120 °C for 50 minutes. Leave the oven door closed and allow cookies to cool completely in the oven.
